Date: Oct 20, 2011
The employees of Solvera Solutions, one of the fastest growing business and information consulting firms in western Canada, showed off their energy and team spirit this month with the launch of their Blues Brothers LipDub, Gimme Some Lovin’. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjFITq2rF7g
“The choice of song celebrates the company’s positive corporate culture, team spirit and our welcoming environment for new employees,” says Managing Principal Reg Robinson. “It was great fun to come together in a project outside our IT comfort zone,” he added. “What we lack in musical talent – which is a lot -- we make up for with energy and good humour.”
The project demonstrates Solvera’s impressive employee engagement, just recently determined by AonHewitt and Queen’s University to be 89% in their 2012 Best Small and Medium Employers in Canada study.” That is, 89% of our employees – far above the Canadian average -- are demonstrating all the important behaviours that enable companies to achieve breakthrough success,” explains Robinson. “Not only does that engagement help us and our clients every day, it helps our home communities of Regina, Calgary and Winnipeg as well. This month alone, we have enthusiastic employee teams volunteering time and energy to support breast cancer research, United Way campaigns and food drives for local Food Banks.”
The LipDub features one of the company’s newest employees in a lively first day at work, culminating in a rooftop party at Solvera’s Regina office in the historic Leader Building. The project was coordinated by an internal team working with University of Regina film students Travis Jule and Adrienne Adams.
