Community & Environment

Solvera recognizes the interconnected nature of today’s business world and applauds North America’s progressive shift in demonstrating corporate social responsibility.

In addition to adhering to a principled set of organizational values that guides our interactions with clients, suppliers and employees, Solvera is committed to minimizing its carbon footprint and maximizing its positive impact on Regina, Calgary and Winnipeg, and other communities it serves.

Community

Solvera proudly supports the communities it serves and is recognized as a philanthropic community leader by the United Way and other leading not-for-profit organizations.

Every year, Solvera and its employees step up and contribute impressive levels of financial support, time and expertise to a wide range of important causes. Our employee-driven community support committee maximizes the corporate resources available and ensures broad participation in charitable efforts for these, and other, worthwhile organizations:

  • United Way of Regina
  • United Way of Winnipeg
  • United Way of Calgary
  • Canadian Blood Services
  • Autism Resource Centre
  • Queen City Marathon
  • Saskatchewan Science Centre
  • Canadian Cancer Society
  • Salvation Army Adopt-a-Family
  • Winnipeg Harvest
  • Habitat for Humanity

Environment

In all three Solvera locations, steps are being taken to minimize our carbon footprint. Led by an employee-driven volunteer committee, some of the recent initiatives include the following:

  • Monitoring and reporting head office power consumption
  • Lighting offices, meeting rooms and hallways only when used
  • Reducing overnight office temperature
  • Recycling all recyclable materials
  • Reducing travel in favour of virtual meetings, whenever possible
  • Offering employee incentives to ride bikes, walk or use public transit to get to work
  • Expressing a bias for electronic documents and distribution, wherever possible
